Reviews
  • As a long standing TVR owner, it has become more difficult in recent years to find a good agent. In 2017 and 2018 had a bad experience with alleged experts, so after many conversations and a visit, I put my trust in Chris Noyland at John Ashley Cars.. A major service of my immaculate 2005 Tamora Red Rose was conducted over three weeks (I was in no rush). Absolutely delighted with the work done, loads of little niggles sorted out, plus every oil, filter and bracket checked and/or replaced. Cannot praise them enough, absolutely delighted and would recommend them without reservation. Thanks guys, well done And it came back very, very clean

  • Had my Chimaera in to John Ashleys and have just got it back, very impressed with the whole experience. I wanted to take it somewhere where it would be driven by someone who understands TVR's and would engage with the car. I had a few faults on it in particular a severe flatspot, all of them needed some digging to get to the issues and Chris dug in. The experience has made me feel like a customer and along the way he tied up a few loose odds and ends on the car which only me who knows the car or someone who was looking with an eye to detail would have seen. Thanks Terence

  • I have taken my Chimaera here a number of times in the last year. I would recommend 100%. The jobs are always completed to the highest standard and at a fair price. Communication is great and keeps you informed every step of the way. Really great service and an honesty that you can trust. I wouldn’t take my classics anywhere else

  • I have been a TVR owner/driver for 24 years recently upgrading to a Griffith 500. I have always looked after my older TVR myself and consider myself fairly competent tackling major jobs on the car. However, the Griffith came with an almost 100% service record, the last owner, who only owned the car 18 months serviced the car himself. I decided to allow John Ashley Cars perform a 12K service on the car, despite the car covering nowhere near that mileage since the last stamp. This was an opportunity for someone knowledgeable to work on the car, drive it and comment in an unbiased manner on its general condition. The car was booked in well in advance with the MOT to be completed immediately after the service, I delivered the car late one afternoon, I was contacted a couple of days later with a progress report on the service and arranged when the car could be collected. On collection the car was properly serviced, had been cleaned and as a surprise had stone chips touched in. Before taking the car away, I was sat down with a coffee and given a summary of what issues had been found and rectified as part of the service and recommendations for remediation. I was provided with an itemised bill, a completed page for the service book, a brand new MOT Certificate and a small tin of touch-up paint. Overall, I was pleased with the thoroughness of the service and the attention to detail that does require intricate knowledge of the marque and the model which wouldn’t necessarily be available at a non TVR Specialist.

  • Moved down to S Yorks recently with my 4.0 Griff which had been stood for the best part of 2 years. Asked for recommendations from the TVR Club regarding getting my Griff back on the road, and was pointed in the direction of John Ashley Cars a relatively new company but run by the very experienced Chris Noyland. Chris talked through everything with me advising what & what not to do resulting in the Griff now been back on the road. However, what topped it off for me was that i arrived back from my holiday and subsequently speaking to Chris he arranged to pick me up from home on a Sunday morning, opened the workshop and the Griff is now back in my garage ready to get on top of the black stuff once again.. Top guy, well worth a chat.
